India A vs Australia A 1st one-day match 2026: direct answer

The India A vs Australia A 1st one-day match 2026 is scheduled for Tuesday, 6 October 2026, at 9:30 AM IST at the Cricket Association Puducherry Siechem Ground, Puducherry. It is the opening fixture in a three-match unofficial one-day series between India A Men and Australia A Men. The event is still in the future as this article is checked on 2 October 2026; no toss, playing XIs or result exists at publication.

For readers looking for the India A vs Australia A Puducherry match time, the listed local start is 9:30 AM. Puducherry observes Indian Standard Time, so the published local time is 9:30 AM IST. Cricket Australia identifies the fixture as the 1st One-Day Match, while the BCCI schedule lists it as the 1st One Day of the home series.

Confirmed schedule facts

The core schedule details are supported by the BCCI's 9 September media advisory, Cricket Australia's series match centre and Cricbuzz's fixture page. The BCCI confirms that the India A–Australia A home series contains two multi-day matches followed by three one-day games in Puducherry. Cricket Australia lists the men's one-day series from 6 to 11 October and marks the opening match as upcoming. Cricbuzz gives the ground name and a 9:30 AM local start for 6 October.

These are schedule facts, not matchday developments. If an organiser issues a change after this publication date, the official match centre and the BCCI will be the appropriate places to verify it.

Confirmed match-card details: Detail: Confirmed information; Match: India A Men vs Australia A Men, 1st one-day match; Date: Tuesday, 6 October 2026; Start time: 9:30 AM IST; Venue: Cricket Association Puducherry Siechem Ground, Puducherry; Format: Unofficial one-day match — first of three; Series dates: 6–11 October 2026; Status on 2 October: Upcoming; the match has not started.

Where the first match fits in the series

This game begins the one-day portion of Australia A's tour of India. The BCCI's published itinerary places the second one-day match on Friday, 9 October, and the third on Sunday, 11 October, with Puducherry named for all three fixtures. The two preceding multi-day matches were scheduled for 22–25 September and 29 September–2 October.

That sequence makes the 6 October contest the first limited-overs meeting in this leg of the tour. It should not be described as a senior men's One-Day International: the supplied fixture pages label it an A-team or unofficial one-day match. Using the correct designation matters when checking scorecards, series tables and player records, because A-team fixtures are organised separately from the senior international calendar.

The phrase India A vs Australia A 6 October 2026 therefore refers to the series opener in Puducherry, not to one of the earlier multi-day games. The scheduled three-match run also gives readers a clear reference point for subsequent fixture listings: 6, 9 and 11 October.

Venue: Cricket Association Puducherry Siechem Ground

The match is listed at the Cricket Association Puducherry Siechem Ground, Puducherry. Cricket Australia's match-centre search result refers to the site as Cricket Association Puducherry Siechem Stadium, while Cricbuzz supplies the fuller Ground wording in its fixture information. Both listings point to the Puducherry venue, and the BCCI itinerary confirms Puducherry for the one-day series.

For searches such as India A Australia A first unofficial ODI venue, the answer is the Cricket Association Puducherry Siechem Ground in Puducherry. The venue should not be confused with a different city named in unrelated cricket schedules. The confirmed location for this fixture is Puducherry, India.

A venue listing establishes where the match is scheduled; it does not establish conditions on the day. This draft does not make claims about the surface, conditions, crowd arrangements, access, or any television or digital distribution. Those details need their own current, publisher-backed confirmation.

What the official schedule says — and what it does not

There is strong agreement across the schedule sources on the match's date, series position and location. The BCCI is the first-party authority for the India A home-series itinerary and published its advisory on 9 September. Cricket Australia is the first-party series source for Australia A and currently classifies the fixture as upcoming. Cricbuzz independently displays the date, time and named ground.

The source agreement is useful, but it is important to keep the scope exact. The BCCI schedule confirms Puducherry rather than providing a full street address. Cricket Australia's series page confirms 6 October as the first match and lists the remaining two dates. Cricbuzz provides the precise venue label and start time. Together, they support the schedule summary above.

The supplied sources do not confirm practical details such as a broadcast arrangement, admission process or on-site timetable. Reddy News has not added those details. Readers should consult the relevant official organiser notice if they need information beyond the scheduled date, time and ground.

India A squad status and matchday selection

The BCCI has named an India A one-day squad for the series. Its 9 September advisory lists Ruturaj Gaikwad as captain and Devdutt Padikkal as vice-captain, alongside Priyansh Arya, Sai Sudharsan, Rajat Patidar, Kumar Kushagra, Nishant Sindhu, Vipraj Nigam, Arshin Kulkarni, Arshad Khan, Naman Dhir, Prabhsimran Singh, Gurjapneet Singh and Yash Thakur. Hardik Pandya is included subject to fitness clearance.

That announcement is a confirmed squad publication, but it is not a confirmed playing XI for 6 October. The named squad is not the same thing as final matchday availability, and no final XI should be inferred from a squad list. This article therefore does not name an India A XI or an Australia A XI.

Cricket Australia's supplied series page names India A Men and Australia A Men as the competing teams and provides the fixture dates. It should be used with a specific official team announcement when checking Australia A player availability. Until authoritative matchday lists appear, any asserted XI is unconfirmed.

Weather, toss and result: status before the match

As of 2 October 2026, no verified match-specific weather update is included in the supplied schedule sources. This article does not state a forecast or infer playing conditions. A weather report, if required, should be checked nearer the scheduled start through a current, location-specific authority.

The toss has not taken place because the match remains future-dated. No toss information is available, and no team selection can be derived from it. Likewise, there is no score, match report or result on this date. Any such claim would be premature until the fixture begins and an authoritative match centre records it.

This separation is deliberate: schedule information is confirmed, while matchday facts remain unavailable. It helps readers distinguish an announced fixture from information that only exists once teams, officials and play are in place.

How to verify updates on match day

Start with the BCCI's India A series advisory for the published India itinerary and squad announcement. Then use Cricket Australia's India A v Australia A One-Day 2026 men's series page for the series-level fixture status. Cricbuzz's individual fixture page is a useful independent cross-check for the venue and listed start time.

When looking for updates, compare the fixture title, date and venue rather than relying only on a social-media caption or a shortened team name. The relevant match is India A Men versus Australia A Men, the 1st One-Day Match, on 6 October in Puducherry. This is especially helpful because the tour also contains multi-day fixtures and because separate Australia A programmes may appear in cricket calendars.

For a concise search phrase, Puducherry India A Australia A one-day match leads to this opening limited-overs fixture. The essential answer remains unchanged at publication: 6 October 2026, 9:30 AM IST, Cricket Association Puducherry Siechem Ground, Puducherry.

Sources and editorial method

Reddy News checked the following sources on 2 October 2026: the BCCI media advisory, Cricket Australia's series match centre and Cricbuzz's fixture listing. The BCCI advisory establishes the three-match one-day schedule in Puducherry and names the India A one-day squad. Cricket Australia confirms the men's series window and labels the 6 October fixture as the first one-day match. Cricbuzz independently supplies the specific ground name and 9:30 AM local start.

No claim in this draft treats a future fixture as completed. The article is limited to information available before the match: confirmed schedule details, clearly labelled squad-publication status, and the absence of matchday facts. It will need an editorial update if an official schedule amendment is issued.
